Training on Online Newspaper Archiving, India (2-6 December 2013)
SDC in collaboration with University of Kerela will be organising Five Days Training on Online Newspaper Archiving from 2nd to 6th December 2013 at Thrivanunnthapurum, Kerela. SDF invites two nominations from all the SAARC Member countries for this course. Travel costs have to be borne by the participants or nominating institution. SDC will provide local hospitality to the participants, wich includes free accommodation, three meals, training kid, transportation to and from the airport and from the guest house to the venue and back.
The SDF Focal Point in Maldives has agreed to allocate one of the two allotted spots to a nomination from the MLA.
The MLA Council has agreed to sponsor airfare for a member of the Association and MLA will facilitate in all other official processes required.
Time is already running late. Therefore interested members of MLA please send in a request via e-mail to email@example.com stating your interest to be considered for nomination. The e-mail should reach us before 14:00 hours on Sunday 24 November. Write in not less than 300 words, why you should be considered for the training. Also, send in your CV with the e-mail.
To be eligible to be considered as an applicant you are required to be be working in a library of the Maldives and also should be a member of the Association for this year (2013) and also 2014. If you are not a member now, you can send the application form and settle the membership payment before 11:30 on Sunday (24 November). Annual membership payment is MVR 240.00 for one year for a personal member. If you are a student of library course at the University you have to pay only 120 for one year. The selection will be done on 25 November and the applicants will be informed of the outcome the same day.
